Difference between HS code and customs commodity code of screen products

Strictly speaking, the two are related, but not completely equivalent. (1) Different entities formulate them. HS is formulated by the World Customs Organization; customs codes are formulated by customs of various countries. (2) Different digits. HS has only 6 digits; customs codes vary, and China has 10 digits. (3) Different scopes of use. HS is only for guidance and coordination, so it is called HARMONIZATION SYSTEM; while customs codes are used by customs to manage actual import and export operations. However, in actual operations, customs of various countries use HS as the basis and determine their own customs codes in accordance with the relevant principles of WCO. Therefore, within a certain range, especially in most operations, the two are called the same.

HS code is compiled by the Customs Cooperation Council (now changed to the World Customs Organization). On January 1, 1993, China's customs officially adopted HS to compile China's customs commodity code. The HS classification catalog adopted by China's customs, the first six digits are HS international standard codes, and the seventh and eighth digits are domestic sub-items added according to the needs of China's tariffs, statistics and trade management. Based on the 8-digit classification code, my country has further divided some tax numbers into ninth and tenth digit codes according to actual work needs.
